The R&D process of “Mekansal Bulut” for municipal corporation and geographical approach

After the Industrial Revolution, highly developed Urbanism has brought many problems. The increase of population, globalization, preference of city life instead of rural life and increasing popularity of the technology are issues that we most commonly consider. Additionally, our relationship with the environment getting be intricate while our municipal corporations are struggling to keep pace with phenomenons of the time. Organically spreading urban areas causes not only unhealthy housing also distorted infrastructure plannings and conflicts between the environment and human. Mekansal Bulut is a simple, pure and fast Geographical Information System application solution working with spatial data. It is usable via an internet browser. Big spatial databases of municipal corporations can serve with the power of cloud computing as easily connectable from everywhere. It can divide into different submodules (like Urban Information System, Cemetery Information System, Infrastructure Information System) according to needs. So that municipal corporations will take more economic, well-planned actions. Mekansal Bulut designed for municipal corporations’ planning, process management and present information to citizens. It has made with the human-environment relationship in mind. In this paper, we are going to examine Mekansal Bulut project’s human-environment researches, some issues that we encountered and providing value-added during the R&D process. Herewith, we emphasize our project’s scientifical and sectoral developing aspects.
