Freshwater Researches: Fundamentals, Trends and Perspectives
Amphipoda Fauna in Some Streams of Eastern Anatolia Region (Türki̇ye) with Their Ecological Tolerance
Belgin Çamur Elipek, Serap Koşal Şahin, Ülkü Alver ŞahinIn this study, freshwater Amphipoda (Crustacea) fauna in some streams of Eastern Anatolia Region (Türkiye) and their ecological tolerances were evaluated. For this aim, the previous studies including Amphipoda fauna in the area and the amphipod specimens from a total of 16 sampling localities in Tunceli and Malatya Provinces were presented. Also, some environmental variables at the sampling localities were determined. While the general information about the ecological tolerances of the obtained species in this study was given, the measured some environmental variables (velocity, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, chloride, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sodium) and the observed habitat types of the sampling localities were also presented. The results were evaluated statistically using Bray-Curtis similarity index and Correspondence analyse to determine the environmental similarities of the studied localities. Thus, it was aimed to examine the distribution of amphipod species related with environmental variables of the studied aquatic ecosystems.
