Rethinking Museum Management Processes Through Blockchain Technology: Adaptable Blockchain Opportunities for Turkish Museums

This study employs a comprehensive methodology, including content analysis informed by a literature review, to investigate the integration of blockchain technology in Turkish museums. By examining the potential benefits, challenges, and transformative effects of blockchain in contemporary museology, this research uncovers previously unexplored connections between blockchain technology and museum management. Through a meticulous examination of existing literature, academic sources, and reputable references, this study offers valuable insights for museum professionals and stakeholders. The primary objective is to enrich academic discourse by providing an indepth exploration of blockchain’s potential for preserving cultural heritage and advancing the field of museology. Ultimately, this research aims to stimulate further studies and practical applications, fostering a dynamic and adaptable museum environment in the digital age.

The rapid advancements of the digital age have brought about significant changes in the field of management science, profoundly affecting the discipline of museum studies with its rich historical background. Recent years have seen significant changes in museums as a result of the advent of digitalization. Integrating these changes with contemporary technology may lead to differing viewpoints among museum professionals and decision-makers, and the use of constantly evolving technology in museums presents financial challenges for the field of museology. Nonetheless, many cultural sectors have initiated innovative projects that explore the integration of technology into museum management. Of these technological advancements, blockchain technology has sparked creative ideas and integrations within the field of museum studies, leading to a reevaluation of museum management.
