Marmara Denizi’nde Gözlenen Müsilaj Yapının Karakterizasyonu Ve Bu Oluşuma Fitoplanktonun Katkısı

Uzun yıllardır İtalya kıyılarında görülen müsilaj olayı son on beş yıldır Marmara Denizi’nde de görülmeye başlamıştır. Bu organik yapıya farklı mikroorganizmalar katkıda bulunur. Bu yapının yani müsilajlı agregatların içeriğinde: diatomlar, dinoflagellatlar, siyanobakteriler ve bakteriler bulunmaktadır. Müsilajda var olan polisakkaritler ısı, ışık, dalga hareketi gibi birçok fiziksel ve kimyasal etkiye maruz kalarak ortamın adeta kimyasal karışım haline gelmesinden dolayı müsilajın kökeni, karakterizasyonu ile ilgili çalışmalarda polisakkarit kimyasından ziyade agregat kimyası ve kinetiği üzerinden gidilmelidir. Daha önce Marmara Denizi’nde çalışılmamış olan müsilaj kitlenin karakterizasyonu, 2021 yılında yoğun şekilde gözlenmesiyle önemini arttırmış ve araştırılması gerektiğini ortaya koymuştur. Önceki yıllarda, müsilaj oluşumunda bakteriler ve fitoplanktonun rolü, tür çeşitliliği ve bolluk açısından değerlendirilmiş, ancak müsilaj kitlenin biyokimyasal karakterizasyonu üzerine detaylı çalışmalar yapılmamıştır. Bu çalışmada müsilajın Marmara Denizi’nde yoğun olarak gözlendiği 2021 yılının Mart, Mayıs ve Temmuz aylarında alınan müsilaj örneklerinin kimyasal karakterizasyonları için Fourier Transform Infrared Spektroskopisi (FT-IR) kullanılmış ve yapıdaki şeker, organik karbon, azot, kalsiyum, magnezyum ve silisyum analizleri GC/MS ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu analizler sonucunda ilgili aylardaki müsilajların hangi agregat grubuna girdiği ve müsilaja sebep olan canlı grubu hakkında tespitler yapılmıştır.
