Adapting the Elements of Love and Compassion to Artificial Intelligence: Patient Care and Nursing Education

Love and compassion are significant concepts dating back to humanity’s beginnings and closely linked to mammals. These days, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing education as well as AI accompanying patient care are being discussed in AI applications. That the new nurse robots with AI produced in this framework have the elements of love and compassion in their nursing functions is crucial. This study aims to question the presence and absence of artificial and human relations at times when individuals are at their weakest and most in need of care, such as in health and patient care, and also discusses the nature and effectiveness of AI-based services. In view of the “Ministry of Loneliness” established in England and later in Japan to examine the requirements of more lonely people, the use of artificial intelligence in health issues and hospital care operations is an intriguing research area. hereas numerous technologies that track physical and mental functions and their ability to determine whether individuals live or die have been explored, it is obvious that talks on Ministers in charge of suicide prevention have produced a great deal of inconsistencies. Because of this, it is important to understand how traditional and scientific notions of love and compassion can be assessed in the context of the medically oriented technology capabilities at our disposal in the 21st century, particularly in the context of AI.

Sevgi ve Merhamet Unsurlarının Yapay Zekâ - Hasta Bakımı ve Hemşirelik Eğitimine Uyumlandırılması

Sevgi ve merhamet kavramları insanlığın doğuşu kadar eski ve memelilere ilişkin kavramlar olmaları nedeniyle önemli kavramlardır. Günümüzde yapay zekâ uygulamaları arasında hasta bakımına eşlik etmesi ve yapay zekanın hemşirelik eğitimi sürecinde de yer alması tartışılmaktadır. Bu çerçevede geliştirilen yapay zekaya sahip yeni hemşire robotlar ile hastabakıcılık işlevleri arasında sevgi ve merhamet unsurlarının bulunması da önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma, bir yandan, sağlık ve hasta bakımı gibi bireyin en zayıf olduğu ve en çok bakıma muhtaç olduğu bir zaman diliminde yapay ve insani ilişkilerin varlığının/yokluğunun sorgulanmasını bir diğer yandan da, yapay zeka ile gerçekleştirilebileceği planlanan bu tür hizmetlerin doğasını ve etkinliğini tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Gitgide yalnızlaşan insanoğlunun gereksinimlerinin daha derinlemesine çözümlenebilmesi için günümüzde önce İngiltere’de sonra da Japonya’da kurulan “Yalnızlık Bakanlıkları” göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, sağlık sorunları ve hastane bakım süreçlerinde yapay zekanın kullanımı konusu oldukça ilginç bir araştırma alanı sunmaktadır. Örneğin, bir yandan beyin ve beden fonksiyonlarını takip eden bir çok cihaz ve bunların insanın yaşamasına ya da ölümüne karar verebilmesi tartışılırken, diğer yandan da “İntiharları Önlemekten Sorumlu Bakan”lardan söz edilebilmesinin çok büyük bir çelişkiyi beraberinde getirdiği ortadadır. Bu nedenle, sevgi ve merhamet kavramlarının 21. yüzyılın insanlara sunduğu tıp odaklı teknik olanaklar çerçevesinde ve yapay zeka bağlamında ne denli geleneksel ve ne denli bilimsel bağlamlarda değerlendirilebileceği de son derece önemli görülmektedir.
