Investigation of Health Geographic Information Systems in Turkey Through National Thesis Center
Eda Çevik, Sevinç GülseçenThe interdisciplinary approach can propose solutions to problems in a faster, more sustainable and more economical way thanks to including different perspectives. When the variables that different disciplines focus on are evaluated together with the field of health, it can offer innovative solutions to problems such as occupational diseases, the spread of infectious diseases, transmission from animals to humans or between species, allergies caused by environmental conditions. Whereas considering health, environment and social status together, time and location dimensions can be considered as part of the problem. Geographic Information Systems contain methods to solve the spatial-temporal problems of areas such as epidemiology, ecology, sociology, public administration, health management. This study was carried out with the theses obtained from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education in order to examine at what level the methods investigated and developed under the title of Health Geographic Information Systems are handled at the graduate degree in our country. It has been concluded that interdisciplinary studies contain many new study subject opportunities.
Türkiye’de Sağlık Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinin Ulusal Tez Merkezi Aracılığı ile İncelenmesi
Eda Çevik, Sevinç GülseçenDisiplinler arası yaklaşım, problemlere farklı bakış açılarını içermesi sayesinde daha hızlı, daha sürdürülebilir ve daha ekonomik şekilde çözümler önermektedir. Farklı disiplinlerin odaklandığı değişkenler sağlık alanı ile birlikte değerlendirildiğinde meslek hastalıkları, bulaşıcı hastalıkların yayılımı, hayvanlardan insanlara ya da türler arası bulaşın gerçekleşmesi, çevre koşullarından kaynaklı alerjiler gibi sorunlara inovatif çözümler sunabilir. Sağlık, çevre ve sosyal statü bir arada düşünülürken zaman ve konum boyutları sorunun bir parçası kabul edilebilir. Epidemiyoloji, ekoloji, sosyoloji, kamu yönetimi, sağlık yönetimi gibi alanların konum-zaman içeren problemlerini çözmek için Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri metotlar barındırmaktadır. Sağlık Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri başlığı altında incelenen ve geliştirilen yöntemlerin ülkemizde lisansüstü düzeyde hangi seviyede ele alındığını inceleyebilmek için bu çalışma Yüksek Öğrenim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi’nden elde edilen tezler ile yürütülmüştür. Disiplinler arası çalışmaların birçok yeni çalışma konusu fırsatını barındırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
