On Functionality of Turkish National Health Data Dictionary

The primary goal of today’s technologies is not to store, collect or transfer data, but to derive meaningful results from data. In this direction, the development of data standards in the field of health informatics ensures that raw data from all stakeholders in the field of health can be processed with information technologies. The National Health Data Dictionary (USVS) is the reference dictionary of hospital information systems from which all stakeholders in the health system can benefit. However, it needs to be revised to become a data dictionary of all health information systems, not just hospital information systems, so that the health data obtained from all health stakeholders are prepared to produce meaningful results. This study aims to express our ontological and computational concerns necessary for the USVS to reach its functional status.

Ulusal Sağlık Veri Sözlüğünün İşlevselliği Üzerine

Günümüz teknolojilerinin başat hedefi, verinin saklanması, toplanması ya da aktarılması değil, verilerden anlamlı sonuçların türetilmesidir. Bu doğrultuda sağlık bilişimi alanında veri standardının geliştirilmesi sağlık alanının tüm paydaşlarından gelen hammaddenin bilişim teknolojileriyle işlenebilir hale gelmesini sağlar. Ulusal Sağlık Veri Sözlüğü (USVS), sağlık sistemindeki tüm paydaşların faydalanabileceği hastane bilgi sistemleri referans sözlüğüdür. Ancak sözlük bütün sağlık paydaşlarından elde edilebilecek sağlık verileri kapsamadığı ve anlamlı sonuçlar üretmek üzere hazırlanmadığından, sadece hastane bilgi sistemleri değil, tüm sağlık bilişim sistemlerinin veri sözlüğü olması için revize edilmesi gereklidir. Bu çalışmadaki amacımız USVS’nin işlevsel konumuna erişmesi için gerekli olan ontolojik ve berimsel kaygılarımızı dile getirmektir.
