Anti-infective Properties of Cistus Incanus, a Plant Extract

Viruses are reported to be the most important pathogens involved in URT etiology. Several antiviral compounds have been developed for treatment, and prophylaxis. Cystus052, a an extract from a special variety of Cistus incanus plant that is rich in polymeric polyphenols, has been shown to exhibit antiviral activity. In this article, the properties and efficacy of Cistus incanus are reviewed.

ÜSYE etiyolojisinde en sık saptanan patojenler viruslardır. Korunma ve tedavi amaçlı birçok antiviral özellikte madde geliştirilmiştir. Cystus052, Cistus incanus bitkisinden elde edilen bir bitki özütü olup, polimerik polifenollerden zengindir ve antiviral etkinliği gösterilmiştir. Bu makalede Cistus incanus bitki özütünün özellikleri ve etkinliği değerlendirilmektedir.
