THE ANALYSIS OF JULIO CORTÁZAR’S STORY “EL ÍDOLO DE LAS CÍCLADAS” ACCORDING TO THE THEORY OF THE STRUCTURES OF IMAGERY

The aim of this study is to analyze Julio Córtazar’s short story “The Idol of the Cyclades” in line with the ideas handled by Gilbert Durand in his book The Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary. According to the French writer’s point of view it is necessary to investigate the symbols which are expressions of collective unconscious in order to analyze the literary works deeply. Therefore, the archetypes of Jung which affected Durand while grounding this theory are also taken in the short story analysis. The symbols used by Córtazar in this short story are examined and the story in general is analyzed on the basis of the personalities reflected by protagonists Somoza and Morand

CÓRTAZAR’IN “PUT” ADLI ÖYKÜSÜNÜN İMGELEMİN YAPILARI KURAMINA GÖRE İNCELENMESİ

Bu çalışmanın amacı Julio Córtazar’ın “Put” adlı öyküsünü Gilbert Durand’ın İmgelemin Antropolojik Yapıları1 kitabında ele aldığı görüşler doğrultusunda analiz etmektir. Fransız yazarın bakış açısına göre edebiyat eserlerinin derinlemesine incelenebilmesi için kolektif bilinçdışımızın dışavurumu olarak sembollerin de araştırılması gereklidir. Buna bağlı olarak Durand’ın bu kuramı oluştururken etkilendiği Jung’un arketiplerine de öykü çözümlemesinde yer verilmiştir. İlgili öyküde Córtazar’ın kullandığı semboller incelenmiş ve ana karakterler olan Somoza ve Morand’ın yansıttıkları kişilikler üzerinden öykünün analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir
