Kent Kimliği Ölçeği: İstanbul Örneklemi Üzerinde Ölçek Geliştirme Çalışması

Kimlik, kent bağlamında tıpkı cinsiyet kimliği, politik kimlik ve etnik kimlik gibi öz kimliğin bir parçasıdır. Bu araştırmada, kent kimliği ölçümüne ve kent kimliğine yapısal olarak dâhil olmayan ancak kent kimliğinin ölçümünü anlamlı kılacağı düşünülen kentsel niteliğe ve kentsel sosyal destek algısına odaklanılmıştır. Bu amaçla Türkçe alan yazına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülen, İstanbul’a yönelik (ancak birçok büyükşehirde uygulanmaya müsait olan) Kent Kimliği Ölçeği ve bu ölçekle ilintili olarak Kentsel Nitelik Algısı Ölçeği ile Kentsel Sosyal Destek Algısı Ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Ölçeklerin psikometrik özellikleri çalışmaya katılan toplam 225 kişi (%27 erkek, %73 kadın) üzerinde sınanmıştır. Kent Kimliği Ölçeği üç boyutta (özdeşleşme, sorumluluk ve tanıma/aşinalık) katılımcının yaşadığı kentin, kimliğinin ne derecede merkezi bir parçası olduğunu ölçmektedir ve Cronbach alfa değeri .94’dür. Kentsel Nitelik Algısı şehir planı algısı, kazanım/avantaj algısı, güvenlik algısı, yaşanabilirlik ve ulaşım algısı olmak üzere beş boyutta kentin kendine has özelliklerine yönelik bireylerin değerlendirmesini ölçmektedir ve bu ölçeğin Cronbach alfa değeri .86 olarak bulgulanmıştır. Son olarak, bireylerin kentle olan ilişkisine etkisi düşünülerek geliştirilen ve algıladıkları sosyal desteğin yaşadıkları kentin içindeki varlığını ortaya koymayı amaçlayan Kentsel Sosyal Destek Algısı Ölçeği tek boyut ve dokuz maddeden oluşmaktadır. Bu ölçeğin Cronbach alfa değeri .89 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeklerin geçerlik ve güvenirliğine dair elde edilen bulgular, ileride yapılacak araştırmalarda kullanılmak için uygun olduklarını göstermektedir. Gelecek araştırmalar için ölçeklerin kullanım biçimlerine dair öneriler ve mevcut araştırmadaki kısıtlılıklar alan yazın ışığında tartışılmıştır.
