Restructuring ATASAM R&D Infrastructure in the Framework of Space Sciences Ecosystem
Cahit Yeşilyaprak, Elif YağmurAtatürk University Astrophysics Research and Application Center (ATASAM) is a university center in Erzurum and its fields of study are basically space sciences, optics, and related technologies. ATASAM establishes the R&D infrastructures of the Eastern Anatolia Observatory (DAG) and the Optomechatronics Research Laboratory (OPAL) within its administrative structure. The sustainability of these types of R&D centers is important and indispensable. In terms of the sustainability of these R&D infrastructures, the efforts to transform their status into legal entities have been initiated within the scope of Law No. 6550 on research infrastructures. This process seems to be the best example of creating an ecosystem in space sciences in Turkey.
