“Ich Möchte Wohl Der Kaiser Sein” (Kv 539)-Ein Patriotisches Kriegslied?
The sociology of art examines art as a part of the social process, together with the phenomena it is in. Art production is a phenomenon that seems individual but can actually be examined at a social level. Because the artist is in a relationship with the society he is in; therefore, he cannot be considered independent of the society he is in. In this article, Gerard Ammerar examines the background of Mozart's aria K. 539, "I Would Like to Be an Emperor", which was composed during the peak period of Turkish influence in Austria. Is this work, composed during the war with the Turks, a patriotic war song as previously stated, or is it a parody that addresses the thoughts of the society in a satirical language? Ammerar considers the aria as a social output of the Austrian period and examines the political, social, political and economic components of the period. He helps us understand the society in which the work was born by giving examples from the works of art produced and also providing information from newspaper reports of the period. In addition, in the last part of the article, he presents his clear argument about the aria with internal musical analyses. The study will present a translation of the article written by Gerard Ammerar in 1996.
“İmparator Olmak İsterdim” (K 539), Vatansever Bir Savaş Şarkısı Mıdır?
Sanat sosyolojisi, sanatı içinde bulunduğu fenomenlerle birlikte, toplumsal sürecin bir parçası olarak ele alır. Sanat üretimi, bireysel gibi görünen ama aslında toplumsal düzeyde incelenebilecek bir olgudur. Çünkü sanatçı içinde bulunduğu toplumla ilişki içerisindedir; dolayısıyla içinde bulunduğu toplumdan bağımsız düşünülemez. Gerard Ammerar, bu makalesinde, Avusturya’da Türk etkisinin doruk döneminde bestelenmiş olan Mozart’ın K. 539 numaralı ‘İmparator Olmak İsterdim’ aryasının arka planını irdeler. Tam da Türklerle savaş döneminde bestelenen bu eser, daha önce söylenildiği gibi vatansever bir savaş şarkısı mıdır yoksa toplumun düşüncelerini hicivsel bir dille ele alan bir parodi midir? Ammerar, bahsi geçen aryayı, dönem Avusturya’sının toplumsal bir çıktısı olarak ele alır ve dönemin siyasal, sosyal, politik ve ekonomik bileşenlerini inceler. Üretilen sanat yapıtlarından örnekler verdiği gibi, dönem gazete haberlerinden de bilgiler sunarak, yapıtın içine doğduğu toplumu anlamamıza yardımcı olur. Yanı sıra makalenin son kısmında iç-müziksel analizlerle aryaya dair açık savını ortaya koyar. Çalışma, Gerard Ammerar’ın 1996 yılında kaleme aldığı makalenin çevirisini sunacaktır.
