Hasan Fırat Diker tarafından yayıma hazırlanan bu eser, sanat tarihinin önemli bir yapısı olan Ayasofya’nın bugüne kadar geçirdiği çeşitli onarımları kronolojik şekilde bizlere sunarak teknik açıdan Ayasofya’nın yapısında tespit edilebilen değişiklikleri, özellikle Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet dönemindeki onarımlarla ilgili arşiv belgelerine dayanarak bilinmeyen birçok önemli noktayı aydınlığa kavuşturan önemli bir kaynaktır.
