Digital Aspects of the History of Teaching Turkish Language in Bulgaria: The Case of The Virtual Collection of Bulgarian Manuals, Grammars and Dictionaries for Learning Turkish Language
Milena Yordanova, Dimitar VesselınovThe goal of this study is to outline the theoretical framework, located in the interdisciplinary field of modern bibliography and linguodidactology, for creating a virtual collection of instructional literature dedicated to the teaching of the Ottoman Turkish language for Bulgarians during the last twenty-five years of the Bulgarian Revival. The concept “virtual linguodidactological library collection” will be taken to mean a set of publications (textbooks, grammars, phrasebooks and dictionaries) stored in Bulgarian libraries, which can be collected in a digital array on the basis of a “collection vector” (Ottoman Turkish language), equipped with “scientific inventory” and “linguodidactological guidelines” for its integration into the process of teaching foreign languages and cultures. These books are rare and valuable and belong to the stock of Bulgarian early-printed (first-printed) editions. As such, they have the status of literary monuments, embedding into their essence the specificity of a certain period of the Bulgarian national educational and cultural history. The principles for building this collection are: bilingualism; virtuality; rarity; linguodidactological value; bibliographical descriptiveness.
