Yaşlı Hastalarda Transplantasyon

Böbrek nakli, yaşlı hastalar da dahil olmak üzere son dönem böbrek hastalığı(SDBY) olan çoğu hastanın uzun dönem sağkalımını ve yaşam kalitesini iyileştirmektedir. Bununla birlikte, önemli komorbiditeleri olan yaşlı hastalar, transplantasyonun faydalarını fark edecek kadar uzun yaşamayabilir. Yine bu faydalar, transplantasyondan birkaç ay veya yıl sonrası gibi posttransplant erken dönemlerde gözlenmeyebilir. Böbrek nakli düşünülen yaşlı hastaların dikkatli bir şekilde değerlendirilmesi; hastalara fayda sağlamayacak invaziv işlemlere maruz bırakmamak ve özellikle kadavra verici nakiller için yıllarca başka bir alıcı adayının uzun bir süre kullanabilecekleri bir böbreği boşa harcamamak adına da önemlidir.
