Cumhuriyetin 100 Yılında Bilim Konferansları Tamamlandı

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşunun yüzüncü yılı onuruna 25 Ekim-18 Aralık 2023 tarihleri arasında İ.Ü. Edebiyat Fakültesi Bilim Tarihi Bölümü tarafından Cumhuriyetin 100 Yılında Bilim konferansları adı altında bir dizi seminer gerçekleştirildi. Cumhuriyetin kuruluşunun ardından bilim ve teknoloji alanında yaşanan gelişmelerle birlikte, başta eğitim alanı olmak üzere modernitenin topluma yayılmasını sağlayan yeni kurumların bu gelişmelerdeki payı, bilimsel düşünce ve uzmanlık bilgisinin yeni yönetsel sistemin güçlenmesine etkisi ve Cumhuriyetle birlikte bilimsel etkinliklerde yaşanan atılım sürecini önceki dönemden ayıran temel özellikler değinilen konular arasındaydı. Yapılan konuşmaların bazıları Cumhuriyetin bilim alanında yarattığı devrimci dönüşümlere ve bunların özgün niteliğinin ortaya çıkardığı kopuşa kimileri ise imparatorluk döneminin son yüzyıllarında yaşanan reform hareketlerinin, kurumsal dönüşümün ve düşün hayatına giren yeni akımların bu gelişmeler için nasıl bir imkân ve ön koşul haline geldiğine vurgu yaptı.
